Hey guys! I'm not back. Yet. This is just a temporary update of status for Crack Putty fans who are perhaps in the dark a bit.

Once again, I'd just like to reaffirm that I'm building my new PC from scratch and want to get that finished before I make comics again - but more importantly: Crack Putty's return is not the first thing to happen once that's done. The simple truth is that before I bring back Crack Putty, I'm going to have a short-ish (maybe 20 something comics) run of my other series called Minecraft Fans, and then when that run is over, you'll be seeing more Crack Putty. Minecraft Fans is something that's been bouncing around my brain for a long ass while, and I kinda remember promising that before the continuation of Crack Putty, I would upgrade all my software and hardware and make some of the Minecraft comic first; and I'm going to keep it that way.

...And believe me, I'm eager for Crack Putty to return too. I really look forward to making jokes and ant comics for this comic series again. I can't stand the thought of never getting these endless streams of story-less comic ideas into something tangible, and I am frequently coming up with them.

Only thing is, I have an unstable version of Flash. It's called Flash 8, but I know it as "The Broken Program That I Use To Draw Most Comics". I have Paint Tool SAI as well, which is arguably more stable and less glitchy, but I can't really create anything good-looking with it yet. Unlike most mainstream art programs, Flash in general is vector based to the point where filling in solids inside a closed outline area is not only easy, but ALWAYS clean and sightly. If I used SAI for everything this series, colouring stuff in would have taken forever and I probably would have given up and switched to black and white. (The Discount Putty strips are usually SAI works.)

But of course, right now Flash 8 is not a very good option.
So I am going to get an upgrade. There is a new version of "Flash" called Adobe Animate, and I am counting on it to be my new Chosen One as far as creating comics goes, and surprise surprise: I need to finish building my desktop tower before I buy it.

Motherboards don't come cheap. The next part of my computer that I'm buying and putting inside the empty tower is a motherboard. So far I've got a new keyboard, new speakers, the empty case, a power supply, and an old graphics card with fans on it. Sadly, I still don't feel like I'm getting close. All I'm doing right now is going from week to week without spending as much money as I used to, and saving cheddar until I've got $1,000 or something. When my new Windows 7 computer is established and working, Edd-Comics will be back in session, and things will be pretty swell.

IT'S BEEN TWO FUCKING YEARS AND YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN AUSTRALIA? ME AND MY OLDER BROTHER WERE ASSEMBLING THE NEW PC THIS YEAR, AND THE MOTHERBOARD I BOUGHT EARLIER SOMEHOW BECAME FRIED. FUCK YOU AUSTRALIA CIRCUMSTANCE! I WILL NOT LET MORE MOTHERBOARDS DIE FOR NO REASON!

I have not built a PC in ages... Good luck! :D
Yeah. Upgrades can be expensive but usually last for a long time. There is not much need to upgrade often unless you are playing hi-end games but even then you mostly need the GPU.
So build something appropriate but something that will last and (hopefully) will not break!

Maybe think of an actual story with the ants :O
You know... Like an actual ant comic of its own! Up to you :D
Many projects as it is!

I've been thinking about that, aside from making a series-comic about ants separately on another Comic Fury domain. I actually want to make an original ant story comic and publish it into a real book. When I finally create that, it's going to be pretty freaking cool. It's not too far out of my hands to do that, either, I'm just not quite ready is all.

And I don't entirely know what you meant, but what I'm certain on is that this isn't a laptop upgrade - I'm building an entirely new PC from scratch and effectively leaving this one behind. I do want to play some high end games in future, but believe it or not the biggest attraction to having superior RAM and other such parts is actually Minecraft. That shit can take up a lot of a PC's resources. If you have several mods, a game with 16x16 pixel graphics suddenly becomes a high-end CPU-eater.
I don't have anything to the effect of Halo 4 or Crysis to play, but it's still going to be nice to play the games I play but with phenomenally less lag.

Spelunky fucking crashed the other day. It crashed when I tried to start recording it. In the middle of a jungle run. Enough is enough.
